The SUBNOX SUB400LEP isn't a dive torch in the traditional sense — it's a precision instrument. Built around Laser Excited Phosphor (LEP) technology, where a blue laser excites a phosphor target to produce an intensely concentrated beam, the SUB400LEP delivers the kind of distance and beam tightness conventional LEDs simply can't match.

How LEP works (and why it matters underwater)

Standard LED torches scatter light across a wide cone. Underwater, that scatter gets absorbed and reflected by particles before it reaches your subject. LEP focuses the light source into a near-parallel column — meaning more of your beam actually arrives where you point it.

With a 250,000 cd rating, the SUB400LEP produces a focused beam visible from almost 1 km on land at night. Underwater, expect roughly 3× the effective range of a standard dive torch with the same lumen rating.

Razor-tight 2° beam

The beam angle is just 2 degrees — essentially parallel — with virtually no light spill at the edges. This makes it ideal for:

  • Long-distance signalling between dive teams
  • Pinpoint pointing during dive briefings or guided dives
  • Spotting critters in deep crevices and overhangs
  • Blackwater diving — illuminating subjects without lighting up the water column
  • Tech diving where a high-throw work light is essential

Compact, intuitive, dive-ready

At only 130 mm long and 196 g (with battery, on land), the SUB400LEP slips easily into a BCD pocket. The smooth magnetic ring switch is easy to operate one-handed, even with thick gloves. Rated to 100 m depth for technical diving.

USB-C rechargeable battery — 2 hours runtime

The included 21700 lithium battery delivers up to 2 hours of continuous use and charges directly via its built-in USB-C port. No proprietary docks or chargers required.
